OUTREACH

Siobhan’s mission is to create more opportunities to bring more music to more people.

She wants to value music as a necessity in people’s lives. A need that is available to all.

She is passionate about creating projects to support this mission. She created and led several community choirs and has directed music education projects and performances.

CHOIRS

Siobhan has led and written for choirs for many years. As a composer she is a firm believer  that she has a responsibility to work with  the importance of getting people through the door and experiencing music.  She believes that one way of doing that is to get people involved.  Her recent project is working with a very small group of untrained singers to see what beautiful sounds they are able to make together.

The Brazon Roar

This was a site specific commissioned piece for large Symphonic Ensemble, Chorus and Steam Engine!

The Ensembles were made up from The Philharmonia orchestra of London and Children from the Hounslow Music service. And the Steam Engine Kempton Park. There were two performances. Kempton provided lots of challenges in that the ensemble were on many different levels. Strings and percussion were on the ground floor, the choir was slightly raised. the woodwinds were higher still and the brass were at the top. The audience were much higher, behind me. We managed to stay together! A small film recording giving an idea of the scale of the place .
